Care for an independently living 90-year-old lady, 54 kg, 160 cm, who suffers from early-stage dementia, (urinary) incontinence, general senile weakness, and has an increased risk of falls. Dementia manifests mainly as forgetfulness, without aggression or tendency to wander. The lady moves with a walker, is unstable, and experiences occasional dizziness, therefore supervision is necessary. A wheelchair is used for longer transfers, and frequent transfers occur during the day, requiring assistance (lifting). She needs partial help with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. She uses diapers, so their changing and hygiene supervision are also part of the care. The caregiver ensures comprehensive care, including meal preparation, shopping (shops are accessible on foot), cleaning, and laundry care. Supervision of fluid intake is also an important aspect. Great emphasis is placed on companionship and activation, such as conversations, playing games together, walks with accompaniment, and general accompaniment in daily life. Night care is not regular, only exceptional as needed (e.g., during restlessness or worsening of condition).
