Care for a 65-year-old gentleman, 75 kg, 175 cm, suffering from dementia and anxiety. He can be verbally aggressive, experiences significant restlessness, and sometimes has disrupted day and night rhythms. He has limited speech and vision. A sensitive yet clear approach is required. The caregiver must be able to gauge when he needs company and supervision and when to leave him be. The gentleman is physically independent, walks without aids, gets up on his own, manages stairs, personal hygiene, toileting, and dressing. He is not incontinent. No lifting or transfers are necessary. The main task is supervision, companionship, and assistance with organizing daily activities. The gentleman enjoys walks, cycling, music, nature, animals, plays the guitar, and likes watching television. There is a dog in the household that also needs care. The caregiver is responsible for cleaning and laundry. An outpatient service visits twice a week to assist with household chores. The gentleman lives with his wife, who works full-time and also travels for work. Therefore, the primary goal of care is to supervise the gentleman during her absence. Nighttime assistance may be occasionally needed. A private bathroom is available for the caregiver. A car with an automatic transmission is available. Free time by agreement. Shops are within a 10-minute walking distance.

Care for an 86-year-old elderly couple in their shared household. The gentleman, 70 kg, 170 cm, has dementia, is forgetful, has poor short-term memory, and needs guidance during the day. He cannot be left alone for long. He is calm, without aggression. He has poor eyesight and hearing and wears glasses. Otherwise, he is physically quite fit, moves independently, and uses a walker for longer distances. He needs assistance with hygiene and dressing (more guidance). He goes to the toilet alone. Hydration needs to be monitored. Companionship and accompanying him on walks are important. The lady, 60 kg, 165 cm, is currently in the hospital due to heart arrhythmia. She is physically weakened but mentally sound. Upon her return, she will likely need assistance with hygiene, dressing, and household tasks. Previously, she was independent; her condition will be re-evaluated. The caregiver's responsibilities include household management such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, supervision of the seniors, daily assistance, and, as needed, care for the lady upon her return from the hospital. Night work is not required, only occasionally checking on the gentleman if he is confused. No lifting is required.
