He recognizes people from his close circle and is oriented in his home environment and familiar surroundings. His orientation in time is impaired, he cannot organize appointments independently, and his short-term memory is deteriorating. He has no tendencies to wander or be aggressive. He communicates understandably, can hold a conversation, and clearly express his needs. His eyesight and hearing are age-appropriate without significant limitations. The gentleman has an unsteady gait but moves independently without assistive devices or accompaniment. He gets up from bed and from a chair without help. He suffers from urinary incontinence and uses incontinence briefs. He requires partial assistance with dressing and personal hygiene. He eats and uses the toilet independently. Assistance is needed with daily hygiene, getting in and out of the shower or bath, showering, and washing hair. Medications are prepared by another person; the caregiver supervises their regular intake. It is also important to ensure adequate fluid intake. The caregiver's duties include meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, laundry, accompanying to medical appointments, running small errands, assisting with daily activities, maintaining the daily routine, providing companionship, and organizing leisure activities. Joint walks, short trips, creative activities, board games, or simple conversations are suitable. The family would also appreciate joint gardening. Night work is not required. The gentleman lives in a shared household with his wife, who does not require caregiving. The caregiver manages the household for her as well and, by her presence, provides her relief in caring for her husband and in running the household. Free time by agreement. A car is available; the caregiver has her own small apartment with a private bathroom.
