He is mentally completely sound and has no communication limitations. The gentleman uses an electric wheelchair. He is not permanently bedridden. Transferring between the bed and the wheelchair is needed 1-2 times a day and is done using a hoist. The caregiver does not need to lift him manually. A profiling bed, hoist, electric wheelchair, and other aids controlled at the bedside are available. He is completely dependent on assistance for showering, personal hygiene, and dressing. The gentleman has urinary and fecal incontinence. He has a permanent urinary catheter and an intestinal stoma. The caregiver is responsible for changing incontinence aids. The outpatient care service handles the application of compression stockings and medication preparation. The caregiver assists with complete personal hygiene, dressing, and meals. They are responsible for cooking, laundry, ironing, and general household management. The gentleman mostly occupies himself independently during the day with a tablet or computer. He enjoys reading, meditation, self-development, and chess. Regular night work is not required. In exceptional cases, assistance may be needed, for example, during diarrhea or if the stoma bag unexpectedly fills up completely overnight. He can call the caregiver via Alexa. His family visits approximately twice a week for six hours and lives nearby. A cleaner comes every 14 days. The gentleman requires adherence to clear instructions and can become irritated if they are not followed. A private bathroom is available for the caregiver. Free time by agreement.
