Care for a self-sufficient 85-year-old gentleman, 87 kg, 183 cm, who is wheelchair-bound. He suffers from kidney failure and undergoes dialysis 3 times a week. He has urinary and fecal incontinence (uses diapers and has a catheter). He had sepsis, during which a toe was amputated, and he also has one leg amputated. He had a stroke (2024) and was recently hospitalized for pneumonia. The gentleman is mentally perfectly fine and oriented. He needs help with hygiene, dressing, and toileting. He cooperates during handling; moderate assistance is needed for transfers. On dialysis days, higher support is required, especially for getting up and throughout the day. He eats independently. The job also includes household management such as cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. Shops are within walking distance. The gentleman enjoys chess and company; communication and spending time together are important. Night duty is not required. Aids such as a wheelchair, commode, adjustable bed, and shower chair are available. This is a moderately to physically demanding care focused on mobility, incontinence care, assistance with basic activities, and household management. The caregiver has a room with a shower and sauna available.
