Care for a 93-year-old gentleman living alone, 80 kg, 160 cm. He suffers from dementia, general old-age frailty, and high blood pressure. Dementia is medically treated and manifests as impaired short-term memory, forgetfulness, occasional mixing up of names, loss of context, and disorientation in time. He is well-oriented in his home environment; outside the home, he requires companionship. He is calm, friendly, open, and prefers a peaceful environment. He speaks rather little, sometimes has difficulty finding the right words, but simple communication is possible. The gentleman moves independently with the aid of a walking stick. He walks without assistance in the household; outside the home, he requires accompaniment. He gets up from bed and from a chair independently. In the past, he underwent heart valve surgery and is being treated for high blood pressure. He mainly needs assistance in the form of guidance with dressing and daily hygiene. It is necessary to prepare his clothes, remind him to change, and help as needed. During showering, assistance is required for entering and exiting the shower or bath; a shower chair is available. The caregiver also assists with hair washing and shaving. He eats independently, but it is necessary to ensure regular fluid intake and shared meals. Medications are prepared in advance; the caregiver supervises their regular intake. The duties also include meal preparation, shopping, tidying up, laundry, general household chores, running errands, providing companionship, and maintaining a regular daily routine. Night work is not required. Free time by arrangement.
