Care for an independently living 84-year-old lady, 65 kg, 165 cm, who has dementia, incontinence, and very poor short-term memory. She has difficulty orienting herself at home and in time. She speaks very little and can only express her needs to a limited extent. She moves around the house with a walker and needs assistance. Outdoors, she uses a wheelchair. The lady requires complete assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. She needs help getting up and must be taken to the toilet regularly. She has urinary incontinence and potential fecal incontinence. Incontinence products need to be changed as needed. She requires assistance with meals depending on her current condition. Sometimes she eats on her own, other times she needs to be motivated or fed. She also needs regular motivation to drink. In addition to caring for the lady, the caregiver also cooks, shops, cleans, does laundry, and takes care of the pet. She assists with the entire daily routine. Presence, companionship, and simple activities are important. Walks or board games are suitable. Medication is prepared by the family; the caregiver supervises its intake. Medical appointments are arranged by the family. On Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the lady attends a day care center. A positioning bed, walker, wheelchair, toilet chair, and bath lift are available. Night work is not required. Free time by agreement.
