Care of a senior suffering from dementia, osteoporosis, multiple vertebral fractures, and atrial fibrillation. He is only partially oriented, not aggressive, but prone to nocturnal restlessness, disturbed diurnal rhythm, and occasional wandering. He is often drowsy during the day but active at night, repeatedly requiring assistance. The gentleman is mobile, but at risk of falls. He uses absorbent briefs for dribble incontinence, which need changing. A profiling bed is available, and further assistive devices have been ordered. The caregiver assists with personal hygiene, intimate hygiene, dressing, toileting, monitoring fluid intake, and provides nighttime care as needed. Direct communication, activating the gentleman, and maintaining his daily routine are important. He enjoys walks, spending time outdoors, and watching television. The duties also include household management, such as cooking for three people, cleaning the home, and general domestic chores. His wife also lives in the household; she is self-sufficient and assists with care but requires significant relief. Nighttime work is essential for this position. The gentleman often wakes up, gets up, and requires help multiple times during the night, calling for the caregiver. This position is suitable for an experienced caregiver who can manage dementia and provide regular nighttime assistance. Free time by agreement. In case of nighttime work, the caregiver has a break in the morning, and 2-3 hours of care are required in the afternoon. Car is available, and shops are also within walking distance.
