Care for an 89-year-old lady, 70 kg, 160 cm, with early-stage dementia and incontinence. The lady is calm, with no aggression or tendency to wander. She is oriented to person and place, but only partially to time. She moves with a walker; her gait is unsteady and requires supervision. She needs assistance when getting up from bed or a chair. She has heart problems, a pacemaker, and urinary incontinence (wears diaper pants). Assistance is needed with dressing, hygiene, toileting, and showering (entering/exiting the bathtub, washing, hair), escorting to the toilet, reminding her and helping with hygiene and changing diapers/pants). She is fully independent when eating, only her fluid intake needs supervision. The carer's tasks also include cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and general household care. Shops are within walking distance. It is also important to maintain a daily routine, spend time together, talk, and motivate the lady to engage in activities. Her husband also lives in the household; he has no health limitations and does not require care, but he needs relief from domestic duties. Night work is not required.
