Care for an 82-year-old gentleman, 115 kg, 170 cm, who is wheelchair-bound and suffers from Parkinson's, frailty, and early-stage dementia. Following a fall, his mobility is significantly limited, and he requires gradual mobilization. Mentally, he is well; he communicates and is oriented in time, space, and regarding people. The gentleman has a catheter and also uses a urine bottle and a commode chair when needed, requiring assistance with transfers and hygiene. He also wears incontinence aids as a preventative measure. He is completely dependent on help with dressing, toileting, and most personal hygiene tasks, although he can manage some activities partially on his own, such as brushing his teeth, washing his face, or a brief shower. Hygiene takes place on a shower chair or at the sink. Assistance is needed for transfers to the shower toilet, for shaving, changing clothes, and managing compression stockings in the morning and evening, possibly in cooperation with nursing services. When getting up, he leans on an aid but requires support and slight lifting. He eats independently; the caregiver is responsible for cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. Walks are only possible in a wheelchair. Night care is not required. The gentleman lives at home with his son, who works and is mainly at home around lunchtime, so managing the household for two people is also part of the job.
