Care for a 56-year-old man living alone, weighing 90 kg and 172 cm tall, who is predominantly bedridden and suffers from multiple sclerosis. He has a catheter and relies on a wheelchair. Mentally, he is fully oriented, appears slightly depressed, and has a rather dominant personality. The gentleman is completely dependent on assistance for all basic activities. He is fully reliant on the caregiver for dressing, hygiene, and using the toilet. He requires complete body care, including feeding, and drinks fluids using a straw. Care also includes transferring from bed to wheelchair using a hoist, assistance with transfers to the toilet or shower, changing incontinence products, and emptying the catheter. A healthcare service visits 3 times a week for showering; physiotherapy and occupational therapy take place at home 1-2 times a week. Care also includes companionship, communication, and ensuring the gentleman is not alone for extended periods. Accompanying him on walks or shopping approximately twice a week is also expected. The scope of work also includes household management such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, taking out the trash, and overall care for the household's operation. Night work is necessary depending on the current condition, approximately 3 times a week for one night when the gentleman is restless and calls for the caregiver. He uses a medicinal spray based on cannabis for calming. Full transfer is required during handling; the gentleman cannot actively assist. A height-adjustable bed, a patient hoist, and a bath hoist are available in the household.
