Caregiver Eppingen-Mühlbach

Care for a 94-year-old lady living alone, 80 kg, 160 cm, who has had a stroke and has limited mobility on her left side. She does not have dementia and is not incontinent, but uses incontinence products. Her hearing is impaired (especially the right ear), so it is necessary to speak louder and preferably into her left ear. She is open, friendly, and cooperative in nature. She primarily uses a wheelchair. Assistance is needed for transfers, as well as for getting up from bed or a chair; the lady cooperates during transfers. The lady is interested in walking again, so it is important to motivate her and perform simple mobilization exercises with her. Caution is necessary during handling as she has artificial shoulder joints and should not be pulled by the arms. She requires partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. Hygiene takes place in a barrier-free shower, with assistance needed for entering, exiting, and, as required, during the hygiene process itself. She manages her meals independently but requires supervision regarding regularity and adequate fluid intake. She takes her medication independently. Household duties are also part of the job, such as shopping, cleaning, laundry care, and general errands. The family visits daily for lunch, cooks, and spends time with the lady. Medical appointments are arranged by the family, and physiotherapy is provided at home once a week. Companionship, communication, and maintaining a daily routine are important aspects of care. An emergency call button is also available. Nighttime care is required approximately 1-2 times per night, mainly for assistance to the commode. The caregiver has a private bathroom.
