Care for a self-sufficient 90-year-old lady living alone (50 kg, 165 cm) who suffers from dementia, incontinence, and has a stoma. The lady is oriented in time, space, and person, but her short-term memory is significantly impaired, she repeats herself often and asks the same questions. Her hearing is impaired, so it is necessary to speak louder and more clearly. The lady also suffers from dizziness caused by an inner ear balance disorder. Her condition is stabilized with medication, but nausea may occur occasionally (Iberogast is administered as needed). She also has a heart valve stenosis, which causes her to become breathless more easily. The lady moves independently within the house with the help of a walker; she no longer goes outside. Assistance may be required when getting up, depending on her current condition. She wears diapers preventatively. She requires partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and toileting. Hygiene includes support with daily care, help with showering, washing hair, and entering/exiting the shower. She is mostly independent with eating, softer meals are recommended, and it is important to ensure adequate fluid intake. Care also includes stoma care and emptying the stoma bag as needed. Medications are prepared, and it is important to ensure they are taken regularly. The caregiver is also responsible for household management, such as meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, and laundry care. Shops are within walking distance. Companionship, conversation, maintaining daily structure, and leisure activities, such as watching television or cooking together, are important parts of the job. Night care may be needed approximately 1-2 times per night, mainly for emptying the stoma bag, though this does not occur every day. Accommodation for the caregiver is possible directly in the senior lady's apartment or in her son's apartment in the same building. There is also an older dog in the son's apartment, but its care is managed by his daughter.
