Care for an elderly married couple in a shared household. A 92-year-old lady, 47 kg, 157 cm, suffers from general senile weakness and has a history of spinal fractures, so she constantly wears a corset. She moves with the help of a walker, her gait is uncertain, but currently the risk of falling is rather low. She has high blood pressure, which is treated with medication. Mentally, she is preserved for her age, but she tends to be sad and depressed. She hears very poorly, so it is necessary to speak loudly and clearly. She needs help with personal hygiene, dressing, and daily activities. Showering is needed approximately once a week, other days assistance with basic hygiene. She has an emergency button at home. Medications need to be checked as needed and supervised. A 97-year-old gentleman, 55 kg, 160 cm, suffers from early dementia, heart failure, circulatory disorders, and general senile weakness. He has a pacemaker, is blind in one eye, and hears very poorly, using hearing aids. Both temporal and spatial orientation are partially impaired. He needs help getting up from low chairs, with hygiene, dressing, and toileting. He is rather authoritarian in nature, so a caregiver with experience in dementia and a patient approach is required. With him too, medications need to be supervised and assistance provided in daily functioning. He also has an emergency button at home. The job includes household management such as cooking, laundry, general cleaning, small shopping trips, and companionship for both seniors. Shops are within walking distance, larger weekly shopping is organized by a relative. A cleaning service also helps in the household. Care for hearing aids and social contact with the seniors are important. Medical appointments are currently managed by the former caregiver; during her absence, the caregiver takes over. Night work may be necessary, especially for the gentleman, approximately 1-2 times per night for accompanying him to the toilet. Lifting is not required. Free time by agreement.
