Care for a self-sufficient 82-year-old gentleman, 100 kg, 183 cm, who is fully mentally oriented, communicates without limitations, and shows no signs of dementia or problematic behavior. He suffers from heart disease, kidney failure, pulmonary hypertension related to heart failure, and has an amputated lower limb. For this reason, he uses a wheelchair, a walker, has a hoist, a shower and toilet chair, and an adjustable bed available. He needs assistance with getting up, transferring, standing, walking, moving, and getting into bed. Nevertheless, he can actively participate and does not need to be lifted with his full weight. He has a permanent urinary catheter. A home care service takes care of an open wound. The caregiver's tasks include assistance with personal hygiene, intimate hygiene, dressing, regular monitoring of fluid intake, and reminding him to take medication. Night work is only occasionally required, as the gentleman can call for help with a bell. He is a communicative person who prefers direct contact and an active approach. The caregiver also handles cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, ironing, plant care, and general household chores. The family visits him often, usually daily or as needed. Free time by arrangement. A car is available.
