Care for a 67-year-old lady, 70 kg, 178 cm, who lives in a shared household with her husband. The husband is mobile but has limited mobility due to a shoulder operation. The lady does not require personal care, only household assistance. The lady suffered an injury in 2018 which resulted in partial paralysis (tetraplegia). She can partially use her right arm, can stand up with assistance, and walk a few steps. She mostly moves around the house using a wheelchair. Outside the home, she uses a three-wheeled electric-powered bicycle. She has a suprapubic catheter and suffers from urinary incontinence; bowel movements are under control. She does not have dementia. The lady needs support with daily activities – personal hygiene (including showering and hair washing), dressing and undressing, transferring to the toilet, and changing the urine bag. She performs all these tasks with partial assistance and actively tries to cooperate. Eating is independent; the food needs to be prepared, cut into smaller pieces, and sufficient fluid intake supervised. Medication administration also needs to be ensured. The caregiver's role also includes household care (cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, small errands, and overall support in maintaining the daily routine). Shops are within walking distance, and a bicycle is also available. Company, conversation, and active presence during the day are important. Night duty is not required.
