Care for an 84-year-old gentleman, 72 kg, 168 cm, who suffers from mild dementia, incontinence, and diabetic foot. Several toes have been amputated due to diabetes. He is awaiting further surgery on his heel. He uses incontinence aids. He moves with the help of a walker, requires accompaniment and light support when walking, and uses a wheelchair for walks. He enjoys spending time in the fresh air. Regular motivation for walking practice is needed. He needs assistance with morning rising, dressing, personal hygiene, and using the toilet. He eats independently. The caregiver prepares meals, helps with cleaning and laundry. The wife manages most of the household and would welcome help and relief. The family wishes for someone to be present with the gentleman at all times. The gentleman spends most of the day watching television, sleeping, or reading newspapers. Night duty is not required; the gentleman mostly sleeps at night. He uses a urine bottle or incontinence aids. Light assistance is sufficient for transfers.
