Care for an 87-year-old elderly lady, 75 kg, 170 cm with diagnoses of incontinence, heart failure, senile weakness, and knee arthrosis. The lady moves around the house independently with the help of a walker; she does not have dementia and is not incontinent. She has poor eyesight and reads with a magnifying glass. She is quite independent in self-care – managing her meals and toileting herself. The nursing service ensures the wearing of compression stockings. The carer's tasks include assistance with dressing (especially in the evening), support with daily hygiene (showering, washing back and legs, safe entry/exit from the shower), household chores (cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping – larger purchases are handled by social services), maintaining daily structure, spending time together (playing board games, conversations, spending time on the balcony), monitoring adequate fluid intake, support with medication intake (medications are prepared by the husband), and caring for houseplants. The husband also lives in the household and requires assistance once a week with showering, partial assistance with showering, and ensuring the household runs smoothly. A toilet chair, grab bars in the bathroom, and a stairlift are available. Night work is not required. A large grocery shop is handled once a week by social services. The carer has her own bathroom and kitchenette in the attic of the house.
