Care for an independently living 85-year-old lady, 60 kg, 158 cm, after a stroke and fractured femur. She has organic psychosis with dementia-like symptoms. She is often confused. She forgets answers and repeatedly asks what day it is and where she is. Sometimes she does not recognize family or the caregiver. She mixes up words. She does not distinguish well between day and night. The lady has significant mood swings. She can shout, curse, and be verbally aggressive. When caregivers change, she may react more aggressively. She suspects someone is stealing her belongings. She hides, loses, or throws away items. She locks doors and then cannot find the keys. Sometimes she wants to call the police. The lady requires supervision. She has a tendency to leave the house on her own and may get lost, thus requiring supervision. The lady walks independently but is unsteady and at risk of falling. For longer distances, she may use a walker. She needs partial assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and undressing. She uses the toilet independently. The caregiver also handles cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. She oversees medications and their intake. The lady needs companionship, supervision, and walks. Doctor's appointments are attended via taxi. Shops are approximately 600 meters from the house. Night work or lifting is not required. Private accommodation with a bathroom and kitchen is available for the caregiver. Free time by arrangement.
